Facial and dental injuries, no matter how big or small, can be devastating to a patient both physically and emotionally. Our board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Dr. Bartlomiej Nierzwicki, is known for his calm bedside manner when faced with high pressure and emotional surgeries of the face and teeth. Dr. Nierzwicki and his staff are highly trained in emergency care, acute treatment, and long-term facial and dental reconstruction and rehabilitation. It is important to have a surgeon who is not only concerned with the aesthetic elements, but more importantly, knows how to restore long-term function of the teeth and jaw. At Millennium Surgical, in Chicago, IL, we will accommodate your schedule to set up a facial and dental reconstruction consultation with Dr. Nierzwicki.
Areas of Reconstruction
Soft Tissue Injuries
Dr. Nierzwicki can repair lacerations to the soft tissues of the face with suturing, allowing for a repair that is aesthetically pleasing. He will also treat damaged facial nerves, salivary glands, or salivary ducts.
Broken or fractured bones in the face require treatment that is determined by where it is located, the age of the patient, severity of the damage, and health of the patient. Dr. Nierzwicki will discuss all of the options of treatment for bone injuries with patients. Stabilizing the area will be at the center of the treatment, which can include wiring the jaw together, or surgical placement of small plates and screws (which is called rigid fixation) at the site of the fracture.
When teeth are fractured or knocked out, an oral surgeon is usually called in to surgical replant the teeth, stabilize the affected teeth with wiring, or bond the teeth together. Patients may require a root canal therapy, and have restorative dental work done to recreate the fractured teeth for chewing function and facial aesthetics. Dr. Nierzwicki is trained to complete all aspects of dental injuries.
"My dentist referred me to Dr. Nierzwicki to get my wisdom teeth removed, the same doctor who removed my brother’s wisdom teeth a couple years ago. My brother told me nothing but great things about Dr. Nierzwicki so I felt at ease going in for my consultation. The office/clinic is nice and clean, all of the staff is very kind, and the doctor himself is wonderful! Everything was explained to me thoroughly so that I knew what was going on with my wisdom teeth, the surgical proce...ss, and the recovery/what to expect afterwards. Dr. Nierzwicki and his staff were more than happy to answer all my questions. I went into surgery without any worries and it went very smooth as expected. Later that day Dr. Nierzwicki called personally just to check up on me, see how I was doing, and answer any questions. I highly recommend Millennium Surgical; Dr. Nierzwicki and his staff are amazing!!!"- M.U. / Facebook / Oct 09, 2018

"Fantastic doctor! I had a molar extracted one week ago. I am a patient who suffers from extreme dental anxiety. I went in for a consultation and Dr. Bart was a Godsend. He explained in detail the procedure, gave me a prescription to help with the dental anxiety and the next day completed the extraction in a matter of minutes with no issues whatsoever. I am so grateful to have used his services. Once I left the consultation, I was actually looking forward to getting the procedure done. He listened to my concerns, addressed them thoroughly with his thoughtful bedside manner. His staff was also exceptional. The facility is clean and modern. I felt no pain or anxiety. If I have any future oral surgery needs, I will never go anywhere else but to Millennium Surgical. A week later, I am healing nicely and have had no pain just the normal discomfort which comes from an extraction. Hands down the best oral surgeon in the area."- V.Y. / Yelp / Jun 07, 2018
